Slow poke me!

I'll bet no one is reading my blog anymore because I'm so slow at posting! Sorry to all of you who are reading it. I'll try to be better at this, but for the next few months, it will still be a little slow! As some of you may know, we are moving back to the states on Dec. 9th. We are so excited to be back with our kids and grandkids. Harrison and Ashlyn are trying really hard to find us the perfect house. When Ashlyn see homes with stairs, all she says is, "Grandma won't like that one. It has too many stairs". And Harrison just wants us to live in his cul-de-sac so he can walk to our house every day! We keep telling him he'll get sick of us after a while but he says he won't. Kaylie is excited for us to be back and have Christmas with her and be there when her new baby sister arrives, and Caden is just excited to see us again, especially his "papa". They are so cute, they make this move worth it.
We are going to miss it here so much! We have become so attached to the wonderful people here and will miss them so much. We will also miss the incredible diving. I had hoped to hit 500 dives before we got home but I'm running a little short. I'm close to 400 but I don't even think I'll hit that. Oh well, it's been an adventure! We'll continue diving though! You can't keep a fish out of water.
When I get the chance, after we're settled in, I'll try to post some of the pictures we took down here. Maybe we can share in some of our incredible experiences.

October already!

My how time flies. I can't believe it's already October. Things have changed a bit for us, and I'm afraid they are going to get much crazier! LaMar doesn't seem to be getting any better, and so we have requested a transfer back to the states. It looks like it will be happening sooner than we thought. It's going to be a crazy next few months, since we are going to Pohnpei next week, New Zealand in a few weeks after that, and then trying to get the home ready to sell, get our car sold, packing out, and adding a wedding on top of that! I hope we survive it all! We are excited to be coming home, but we will also miss it here so much. We have made so many good friends, and we've loved the weather and diving. It will definitely be a "bitter-sweet" move. Guam will always be a part of us. It's a beautiful island. I wish all of you could've come here to visit. You don't know what you're missing. Pray for us as we try to get all this accomplished! We're excited to see everyone back home again.

Hafa 'Adai!

Thought I'd just update our blog a little bit. I don't have any pictures to post at the moment, but here's an update on us. LaMar and I went back to Utah the first part of September and were able to stay for about 10 days. That just isn't enough time to get everything done! Our poor grandkids, they didn't know if we were coming or going! We were glad to see them and had a great time with them, but it just wasn't long enough. We had lots of doctors appointments and shopping that had to be done. LaMar had follow up appointments on his Sarcoidosis, and unfortunately, the news wasn't the best. He's not any worse, but he's not any better. He'll have more follow ups in December and then we'll decide what to do from there. Some of the alternatives, we really don't like. We'll just have to see how it goes. We were able to stay a day in Hawaii with Jessica and that was great. She's getting real excited for her upcoming wedding. We're excited for that too. We're back in Guam now, I've already been diving and LaMar starts traveling again next week, so I guess, life is back to normal. We miss everyone and we're excited to see everyone again in December. Life is good, even when there are "bumps in the road"!

Pictures from "Paradise"

Thought I'd post a few pictures from the islands. It's a beautiful sight to behold!
Stone Money Banks in Yap

I haven't quite figured out how to layout pictures and write about them, but here are a few from the islands. There is the island of Lae in the Marshall islands, the runway on the island (it's the grass strip with a little of the airplane wing showing!), Tumon Bay in Guam, and the island of Yap. They are all beautiful!

Dive pictures from Borneo

Here are a few pictures from Borneo, in Malaysia. It was an awesome trip! Notice the little "Nemo". It looks like he even has a "gimpy" fin. We are standing in front of the little "hut" we stayed in. It was incredible. The island was so small, it took us only about 20 minutes to walk around all of it. It was amazing to see the poor people who lived there. The dive operation and hotel were great but the homes the locals live in were unbelievable. They were just plywood shacks up on stilts for when the tide is high. Each one was about the size of a small bedroom, and they have entire families living in them. We took some notebooks, pencils and candy to give the children and we practically got attacked when we handed them out. Most of the kids didn't care about the candy, they just wanted the notebooks and pencils. We even had some older boys turn down the candy when that's all we had left. It's amazing what we take for granted in America. We are truly blessed.

I'm definitely not good at working this blog thing, but Kimberli is helping me. I've been on the island of Kosrae for a week (got stuck there for an extra day, darn-it!) so I haven't been able to figure this out, but now I'm back on Guam and Kimberli has helped me figure a few things out. By the way, Kosrae was AWESOME! It's truly a tiny island paradise. I have fallen in love with the people there, not to mention the diving. It was a great week. LaMar is feeling a little better, not as much as he'd like. He still keeps way too busy, flying all around the Pacific. He was in Kosrae with me for a few days last week, then he just got home last night from Saipan, and then he leaves Monday for Pohnpei for 4 days. The next week he goes to Palau and Yap for 4 days, the week after he goes back to Saipan for 2 days, and then the week after he goes back to Utah for follow ups. As you can see, it's crazy!! I try to go with him as often as possible, but that can get a little pricey, so it doesn't always happen. We do get tons of frequent flyer miles though so that helps. Anyway, we hope you enjoy this first picture that I am posting. I hope it works. This is from our dive trip to Borneo, in Malaysia. This picture is NOT zoomed in. That's how close we were to hundreds of giant turtles. It was AWESOME! I'll try to post more pictures later. We love you all!

Happy 4th!

Hi everyone. This is my first attempt to post something, so if it doesn't work, just know that I have no clue what I'm doing. Thanks to Kimberli, she put together our blog page and I think she did a great job!! A picture is worth a thousand words, so we have tens of thousands of words here!! Hope you've enjoyed looking at all our pictures. We sure love our family! LaMar and I are doing fine in Guam. We sure miss everyone but we keep plugging along. He is feeling a little better, it just depends on the day. We have been back in the water diving so that's been good. I'm up to 310 dives now, so not bad for just under 3 years of diving. We'll post some more dive pictures when we can figure this out. We've got some great pictures from our last dive trip to Borneo (in Malaysia). It was incredible.
Hope all of you are doing well and having a great summer. We love and miss you all.
